Today I picked up a full bag of groceries for $10. OK, it helped that I had two free-item coupons: a free pint of Ben & Jerry's courtesy of my cell phone provider for a short phone survey and a free coupon for a Kashi product (in this case a box of cereal) for a survey I filled out on the Kashi website.
I also ended up with some unexpected sale items. The box of chik patties I bought ended up being on sale and was $2 less than I thought. The box of cookies I picked up to bring on my sales appointment must be entered wrong in the grocery store computer because with the discount of $1.49 that was automatically taken off at the register they came up to just 50 cents.
In addition to all these items, I bought a package of chocolate chip cookies (for me), a half gallon of milk, a tomato, a cucumber and some bananas. All told, I think I did pretty good for $10.

Clearly you don't live in Los Angeles. The produce alone (coupled with our 9.75% sales tax!!) would be more than $10.
Yikes! Do you have to pay that 9.75% sales tax on food, too?
